[...] Taking a break with some well deserved rest, I’m visiting family in Wilmington, NC. This weekend, I took the family to the park to play, as I always do. This time there was a strange twist. I am a firm believer of taking my camera everywhere I go. This time I left it on purpose. Wow… A photographer (AEparker) leaving his camera behind on purpose? What was I thinking? Well, I wanted to enjoy my family and play with my kids without the camera in my hands this time. I’ve always thought that leaving my camera would be a big mistake. In a lot of ways it is. I usually take it… if for nothing else, practice. I have to say I enjoyed myself. I watched my son, Josh, run around the park and climb on things and slide and jump. And Alissa, my daughter, loves to just run. She runs everywhere she goes. She ran all the way to the ball field and back. I had to chase her of course… I put the camera down this weekend and enjoyed my family. Of course my photographic eye never takes a break. Even days without my camera can be inspirational. It was a great day at the park.
